About the Senegal economy:

Senegal, still listed as one of the world's poorest countries, has started to develop rapidly in the last decade, especially in the region of the capital of Dakar and major cities close to it. This has been stimulated by the Senegalese 'diaspora', the millions of Senegalese emigrants who went off to work in the USA, Canada and Europe and brought back their hard earned money into their own country, investing it in the Senegalese economy.
For another part, the rapid modernization has been stimulated by cooperation of the Senegalese government with other overseas governments, particularly with the USA government. This has caused major advances in economical development in Senegal: better infrastructure, better health care, better education, better government, more employment and more opportunities for businesses and industry.
Last but not least, Senegal is involved in a rapid process of digitalization: in the last five years an infrastructure of ADSL connections has be laid out to reach all of the populated cities and its neighbouring rural areas.
